Located midway between The Villages and Ocala, Belleview provides a quiet retreat to call home. Belleview’s beautiful parks and friendly atmosphere appeal to families young and old. With several parks to choose from, including Lake Lillian, which offers fishing, walking trails, and soon a splash pad as well the sports complex where children take delight in playing several sports activities which include football, cheerleading, softball, baseball, t-ball, basketball, soccer, and tennis. Today Belleview is the commercial and residential center of South Marion County. Centrally located between The Villages and Ocala, Belleview is only 20 minutes from these employment and business centers. Abshier Blvd (AKA S US Highway 441) forms a commercial backbone through the City. Local businesses cluster around the Lake Lillian commercial district and highways.

Belleview’s history centers around Lake Lillian and the railway. The little lake in the center of Belleview was first called Butler Pond (1843), then Roach Pond, Nine Mile Pond, and finally Lake Lillian (1885). Early farmers grew cotton, vegetables, sugar cane and cattle. Read More
