Building Permits

Making a change to an existing structure, adding a shed, or building a new structure?  You will likely need a building permit from the City of Belleview.  The City of Belleview prides itself on its user friendly building permit process.   The City has a streamlined permitting process with a fast review turn-around, an online permit tracking system, and friendly staff to help you get your project completed and your business open.

Work that requires a building permit includes new signs, replacing a roof, upgrading electrical work, installing a new shed, adding a sink or bathroom, installing a new air conditioner or adding an outdoor seating area. If you are unsure if you need a permit, contact the Building Department at 352-233-2105 and Building Department staff will help guide you through the necessary paperwork to help your business get off to a good start.

Minor permits for electric, plumbing, HVAC or roofs are typically ready for pick-up within two days of application.  Inspections are scheduled for the next working day, or even the same day if the request is received before 8 am.

The Belleview Building Department is located in City Hall.  Hours are Monday-Thursday 7am – 5pm.  Staff may be reached by email at or #352-233-2105.

Building Department Forms are available on-line at and at City Hall.
