The Cost of Property Taxes is Lower in Belleview
Property taxes = Millage rate x (Property value / by 1,000)
Due to a long history of strong fiscal management, Belleview maintains a low millage rate that produces Ad Valorem taxes (Property Taxes) that make up only 19% of the General Fund Revenues. The General Fund covers Commission, Administrative, Development (Building), Information Technology, Police, Garbage, Cemetery, Streets, and Parks. Of the General Fund covered services, Police is the largest with a 2016 budget of 1.3 million dollars.
The table below demonstrates that Belleview’s property taxes are considerably lower than other Marion County cities.
